Reasearch & planning advert: Generic conventions and analysing adverts

Generic conventions:
  • Where can it the album be downloaded
  • Clear image
  • Parental advisory
  • Key singles
  • Release date
  • Spotify and I-tunes
  • Album name
  • Artist name
  • Catch phrase
  • Logo
Purpose:
  • Artist exposure
  • Album exposure
  • Promotions
  • Builds relationship between artist and audience
  • Allows more synergy to take place

Lighting and colour:
The advert has very natural lighting with very light colours to show innocence and naturalness of the artist. It also makes her look very glamorous as the light is coming from above her which supports Dyer's theory of enhancing 'Star image'. This is conventional to the genre because it consists of calm and peaceful sounds which is complimented by the colours. This builds a neutral and calming response and relationship from the audience.

Main image:
The main Image is showing the artist clearly to the audience to show a lot of star image which gives the artist a lot of publicity and exposure to the audience. This then relates to Dyers theory of enhancing 'Star image' again as the advert has the star front and centre to give her a lot of publicity to the audience. This is conventional to the genre because as their is a lot of star image shown to give the star more exposure. This builds a greater understanding between the star and the audience as they learn more about the star and who they are.

Layout:
The layout is simple  but stands out to the audience as you can see the title of the album and the star and they are the main things that need to be put across to the audience to give her as much publicity as possible.

Typography:
The typography was simple and bold using bright colours to make sure that the viewer can see it and it stands out.

Information:
All the necessary information is shown on the advert such as the album name , when it will be released, key singles and the artists name.

Artist representation:
The artist is represented as very glamorous and posh to show the audience what kind of artist she is and what ideals she has so they will understand he better.

The whole advert is very bright and stands out very well to the viewer of the advert as it uses very bright colours.

The main image shows the artists clearly to the audience to ensure she gets a lot of publicity to her audience this is clear use of star image.

Layout:
The layout is very simple and easy to understand showing the artists image clearly in the centre of the advert and the information right under her picture.

Typography:
The typography is very detailed and bold so it is easily visible and stands out to the audience so they will not miss the information on the advert.

Information:
The advert displays the necessary information clearly also showing the album name , when it will be released, key singles and the artists name.

Artist representation:
The artist is represented as very glamorous but more like she could be anyone of us as she is represented very conventionally to create a clear relationship between her and the audience.

How has this research been helpful?
This research has been helpful as it has given us clear ideas of how we should design our advert and what is conventional in the advert that we have identified as what we wants ours to be like.
